In Toastmasters, everything revolves around the club members. Members of our clubs make the meetings memorable. While all clubs feature the same meeting structure, some are more formal, feature a theme, or have criteria for members to join. A club with a good membership strength ensures quality meetings by offering variety in content and opportunity for all members to try various roles. Adding new members to your club throughout a program year results in better meeting experience.
Toastmasters International encourages and recognizes clubs that add members during specific membership building program windows as mentioned below:
- Smedley Award – Program Dates: August 1 – September 30
- Talk Up Toastmasters – Program Dates: February 1 – March 31
- Beat the Clock – Program Dates: May 1 – June 30
If your club adds five new, dual, or reinstated members with a join date between the program dates as mentioned above, the club will receive a ribbon from Toastmasters International. The addition of transfer and charter members do not count toward these awards.
