Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District leader:

Toastmasters Experience helped me to identify my potential in executing tasks, which gave me confidence in taking up challenges like organizing Events such as parent orientation, special assemblies, annual programs at my School. I developed effective communication techniques, so my style of interaction with children and co workers improved. I implement a system of giving and receiving feedback in every activity we do at School. The commonality between School and Toastmasters is both help us to learn and grow, duties are accountable but, in Toastmasters I can work in a fearless way, mistakes are accepted and I get constructive feedback. I used to try ideas and things at my Club before I do it in school.
At work no mistakes are allowed.

What experience do you have in strategic planning?

At work,we do have yearly goal settings for each child and for the school as a whole. These goals will be reviewed on a monthly basis with our team. At times, different departments come together to get things done. So my strategy is to make a team, discuss with all, get the best idea, and and put all that together to best of my ability.

What experience do you have in the area of finance?

I have a vegetable and fish farm, through a bank loan, which i am servicing and manging by selling farm produce at local markets and to individuals at predetermined prices to make sure i will not end up in loss. I am responsible for its financial matters.

What experience do you have in developing procedures?

Being a maths and Science teacher, my goal is to make my students better versions of themselves, in learning and growing by the end of each term. To make this process easy, I do follow a procedure. While introducing a new concept, I usually start with a magical element, that definitely makes the children to come up with ‘why’ questions. Then we do science experiments with children, take them for field trips, connect the theme and real life, evaluate them with assessments, prepare term reports, present reports to their parents, all these steps in this procedure will ensure the students growth as better individuals. This will eventually reflect in the school’s reputation.

What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?

Teamwork makes dream work, My Area director role forced me to reach out for help. I was a little hesitant or rather not aware of many things, but when I started communicating with more experienced Toastmasters and mentors, they offered help and suggested ideas. All my Area activities were accomplished through Teamwork. That was one of the biggest learnings. I learned to Embrace the change and Lead the team through the transitions, delegate tasks, recognize achievements show integrity and professionalism in all Leadership roles.

Why do you want to serve as a District leader?

To help members grow, and the Clubs to grow, I believe Excellence is the highest quality and that is what we strive for.

In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?

When we look at dashboard, if there is an increase in membership number or new clubs are adding to District 121, I can say I am working towards District mission. If I am elected as Division G Director, I will facilitate Area Directors for doing Quality Programs in their Area and also I will design some Division Awards which to help achieve District mission.
