What experience do you have in strategic planning?
I have been Director – NAR, National Association of Realtors, for two Conventions
1. NAR Convention – Hyderabad 2021
2. NAR Convention – Bangalore 2022
Such National Conventions are participated by professionals across country in large numbers varying from 1500 – 2000, which involves massive strageic planning from Finance, logistics, registrations, hospitality, hotel, venue, speakers and whole lot of other aspects, for which the planning begins atleast 9 to 10 months ahead of time.
What experience do you have in the area of finance?
In view of the above, we have worked towards raising funds upto five crores at a National Level
Besides the above to name a few
1. Event chair – Sahasra, 1000th Meeting of LA Nineteen Twenty Four TM Club – well attended by 278 members, hosted in a five star hotel, followed by cocktail dinner (at club level).
2. Event chair – 25th year Silve Jubilee Anniversary celebrations of LA Nineteen Twenty Four TM Club well attended by 230 people in a five star hotel followed by cocktail dinner (at club level)
Both the above events were spear headed by me as Event Chair to raise funds and execution to perfection with my club members support.
What experience do you have in developing procedures?
As four time past President, have had the experience of running the club effectively with dynamic teams, setting systems and procedures, which is now adopted by the club in best practices series.
Have contributed immensely to other forums, where I have played important roles in ROTARY, My school Alumni Association, Residents Welfare Associtions
What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?
Leadership is not a position, its all about actions
Leadership is not about just inviting people to follow, its how effectively you influence with walking the talk approach
Leadership is also about, delivering results on time with SMART GOALS.
Why do you want to serve as a District leader?
I just love this question
I attribute everything I am to TOASTMASTERS, which has played a significant role in my outward growth, and has taken me places to handle very important and senior roles in my career and social forums. Highest point being General Manager of Embassy Group, which is one one of the top 10 companies in the country, which gave me exposure to deal and work closely with some of the TOP GLOBAL IT GIANTS.
Being in the amazing journey for the last TWENTY THREE years, I now personally believe that it is time to give back and serve this AMAZING ORGANIZATION, which has given me so much.
TOASTMASTERS IS JUST INCREDIBLE, MY LOVE AND PASSION for TOASTMASTERS CANNOT BE DESCRIBED IN MERE WORDS. If I am given an opportunity, I promise to give my best.
In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?
We build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence
In my opinion, in simple words, I would like to describe as follows;
1. As I take over as ROTARY CLUB PRESIDENT, its my mission to reach out and CONVERT maximum ROTARY CLUBS to be complimented with TOASTMASTERS CLUBS, considering the fact that Rotary International & Toastmasters have signed a global alliance in 2019, as a leader I would like to use this as the best opportunity to collaborate and work together to have as many TOASTMASTERS CLUBS in ROTARY, since the overheads will be very minimal as most ROTARY CLUBS have their own premises.
2. Its my mission to reach out to large institutions to have TOASTMASTERS CLUBS, every Engineering & Medical Colleges have some many disciplines, wherein each division is a potential TOASTMASTERS CLUB, which can be coordinated through the management, which becomes one point contact.
3. I wish to take TOASTMASTERS to the REAL ESTATE FRATERNITY across, being in a rsponsible position, I am confident that, I can make a difference
Additional information about yourself:
About myself;
I come from a simple humble background, with the blessings of my parents and well wishers, I have been quite successful working in 5 different countries, am so blessed to be a toastmaster for the last 23 years and going strong. My family is very small – My wife Vimala Jagdish is a professional in the Apparel Industry, who has traveled widely, My son Karan Jagdish is a Software Engineer, who is well placed. In addition to this we have two adorable Golden Retrievers – Dodo & Mattee who are integral part of the family.
I strongly believe in serving the community and society at large, to make a difference and touch as many lives as possible, simply because that will be the greatest assets anyone can invest in this lifetime.
I have a good reach in the REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY, where there is a lot of money, by which I can reach out to mobilise funds for the ANNUAL CONFERENCES such as CRESCEONDO. It is my dream to contribute as a EVENTS CHAIR for the DISTRICT and pull off a WORLD CLASS ANNUAL CONFERENCE like NEVER BEFORE in the CENTENARY YEAR.
Am a simple humble, down to earth individual, who believes in helping as much possible in my capacity.
