      • We have three awards for the Best Newsletter – First, Second and Third
      • The awards are announced at the District Conference, May 2024
      • The contest is judged by an independent panel of judges using the criteria given below.
  • Judging Criteria 
    • Toastmasters Club (Chapter) Information
      • Promote your club by mentioning the name of your club and the division and the district it belongs to. 
      • Introduce your office bearers.
      • Acquaint the readers with the location and the timing of your club meetings.
      • Get us familiar with the history of your club and the club sponsors.
      • Mention about District Calendar / List of Events 
    • Promotion of Toastmasters Program
      • Have a section dedicated to the Mission of Toastmasters Clubs
      • Announcements and declarations of upcoming Club, Area, Division, and District events
      • Proper usage of Toastmasters International Branding guidelines. (Inclusive of Logo and tagline)
      • Individual member achievements in the Pathways program.
      • Outreach programs for aspiring toastmasters.
    • Layout & Presentation
      • Layout should incorporate careful attention to white space, page balance and the importance and organization of the articles. Indexation of the newsletter for facilitation of the readers. The newsletter should be easy to read.
      • Design & creativity
      • Effective use of graphics and/or photos as also of borders, dividers, and rulers. Consistent use of typeface (headings, subheadings, captions, articles)
    • Editorial Information
      • Newsletter name, volume information, newsletter issue information should be mentioned clearly.
      • Editorial board member names and information , sponsoring organization information should be present.
      • Chief Editor’s address is mandatory.
      • Article with submitting members details. Credits to the author, or to the source (Name of the source, issue, & date etc.) for non-original articles.
    • Content of the newsletter
      • Educational value, learning items, knowledge nuggets centered on communication and leadership
      • Recognition of club members (Toastmasters educational achievements) and new member information.
      • Promotion of Toastmasters education programs.
      • Quality of writing meets acceptable standards of sentence structure, spelling, punctuation and grammar and most importantly should be impactful and innovate. Report on club activities, interclub meetings, contests, education programs can be incorporated.
      • Report on DCP status must be given.
      • Club President’s message, Messages/addresses from District Officers is encouraged.
      • Educational articles related to Communication and Leadership, Members experience as Toastmasters can be included.
      • A testimonial from members and guests or from Management representatives for a corporate club or a college club is encouraged too.

    The judging will be done in accordance with the content, design and structure of the newsletter.
    The judges’ decision will be final.
